Developer and hacker, Nick Pack has revealed that he has managed to successfully port Android 2.3 Gingerbread, the latest version of Android OS to a jailbroken iPhone 3G.
Hackers have previously ported Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) to iPhone 3G.
Nick announced the news via the following tweet:
http://twitvid.com/6SWN3 – For those of you in doubt, this is Android Gingerbread on iPhone 3G, apologies for the crap video
The port is based on the iDroid project, so users will have the choice of either running Android OS or iOS, which is pretty cool.

You might have noticed that Android OS port is quite sluggish iPhone 3G. Nick has mentioned that he will try to improve the performance but has indicated that it will be difficult due to lack of graphic acceleration and iPhone 3G’s underpowered hardware.
Nick has also revealed that other hackers are working hard to port Android OS 2.3 to iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS but there is currently no ETA on when it will be available to the public.
Do you fancy the idea of running Android OS and iOS in a dual boot configuration?
